Pisa / Pizza?

Hello, everybody! I visited Pisa for two days with my family. Why is Pisa, isn't the other famous Italian cities like Rome or Milan? Um... How to explain? Ok. The only two things I would love to share with you are: 1) Because of the learning tower.  2) It's the best hub for our journey.                                         When my mum first heard about the places we travelled to, she's misunderstanding. She heard Pisa as pizza. Then, she asked me, why the place called pizza? Was it the origin place for pizza? HAHA... I was speechless. Mum, could you please read more books? Thank you. Okay, no more joke. Should I introduce some basic information about Pisa to you? I just tell you something I know about it. XD                                                         1) Pisa isn't Pizza! They're different.       2) It's a little town in Italy. A day trip to Pisa is enough. We spent two days over there was too much. Visiting all the sights of  a place is the travelling purpose with my family. There are few attractions to visit in Pisa. Actually, we went back to the apartment early on the second day in Pisa and slept for an afternoon. (/////./////)                                 3) Pisa is famous for education. The university of Pisa is one of the oldest university in Europe.
Anyway... Our trip in Pisa was beginning with...

1) The pedestrian street - Corso Italia

It's a street full of shops and cafes. It's the high street. Walking straight from the train station, and pass two squares, you'll be the beginning of the street. I didn't spend so much time on the street because the only brand shop I know on the street is H&M.

2) The Learning Tower of Pisa

The learning tower is the most famous site in Pisa. It is located in the Square of Miracles (Campo Dei Miracoli in Pisa). In the square, you can also visit the Cathedral of Pisa (Cattedrale di Pisa), the Graveyard (Camposanto), The Pisa Baptistry of St. John (Battistero di San Giovanni) and Sinopie Museum (Museo delle sinopie). To be honest, I didn't walk into any buildings I mentioned in the square because of the entry fee and my mum doesn't care about the history and culture of it. She's as like as Chinese visitor. The major purpose of her trip isn't for the thing or building itself, but for the picture or fact of proving that she was there. I know it's wired, but this is the common Chinese version of travelling, especially in my mum's generation. The other thing that we, as Chinese, feeling strange in Europe is the entry fee for a toilet. The public toilet in China is free entry. Of corse there's might be a dirty issue in some places, but most of the toilet in shopping malls is clean and nice (in Hong Kong and Macao).  BTW, the public toilet near the square is costed 0.80 per person.   I've read a website about the history/facts of the Learning Tower of Pisa, and think it's funny. Here is the link: http://www.historyextra.com/article/medieval/5-facts-about-leaning-tower-pisa

3) Knights' Square (Piazza Dei Cavalieri)

Palazzo Dei Cavalieri

4) River Arno

5) Dinner at the apartment

The apartment we stayed has a kitchen. And we didn't want to go out for meals. So we cooked our dinner and breakfast at the apartment. I didn't take the picture of the breakfast we cooked, but I took the dinner one. It's hard to find the supermarket when we just arrived. I forgot to ask the apartment host in advance for the supermarket. So it was difficult to find it ourselves without any internet network. Anyway, I had asked couples of people and gratefully I found it in the end. (I was spending an hour for looking for it =.=''') HaHa!
